Oregon & Washington & Florida · Comparison
Almost Licensed vs License Trail — for Oregon, Washington & Florida Clinicians
Last updated August 1, 2026
Both tools replace the licensure-hours spreadsheet. License Trail is a flexible any-state tracker ($89/yr) where you set up categories to match your board. Almost Licensed ($29/yr) is built specifically for Oregon, Washington, and Florida — the board's own categories, reporting windows, and the boards' own PDF forms are already in the product. If you are an associate in OR, WA, or FL: that's us. If you are anywhere else, or a psychologist: that's them. (Prices and claims verified July 2026; check their site before subscribing.)

Where License Trail is genuinely better
- You're outside OR/WA/FL. Their customize-your-own-categories model works in any state; our built-in rules only cover three.
- You're a psychologist. They support psychology tracks; we don't.
- Monthly billing ($9.99/mo) if you're months from finishing; and a $29 student lifetime plan (note its 1,500-hour cap sits below every OR/WA/FL full-track requirement).
Where Almost Licensed is built differently
- The board's rules are the product, not your setup task. Their FAQ: "customize categories and tracking to match your specific board requirements." Ours: BLSW/OBLPCT/DOH/491 categories, milestones, and supervision rules ship in the app — you log hours, nothing to configure against the regs.
- Reporting windows are automatic. Oregon six-month windows from your birth month, OBLPCT annual, WA cumulative, FL final-only — computed, not remembered.
- The board forms are the boards' actual PDFs — the Oregon BLSW and OBLPCT reports, the WA DOH 670-011, 670-128, and 670-005 verification forms, and Florida's DH-MQA 1181 — filled from your log.
- A supervisor product, not just access: your supervisor sees a live caseload view and drafts the supervision report from your logged numbers.
- Price: $29/yr vs $89/yr — about a third, over a track that runs years.
Honest limitations (ours)
- Three states. Elsewhere, License Trail or a spreadsheet serves you better today.
- No psychology tracks.
- Florida: supervisee tracking is live; the supervisor side doesn't cover FL yet.
- The in-app report sign-off is an internal record, not a board signature — you still file through the board's own process.
Common questions
Is Almost Licensed cheaper than License Trail?▾
Yes. Almost Licensed is $29 per year; License Trail is $9.99 per month or $89 per year. Over a typical 2.5-year licensure track that is roughly $73 versus about $223 (prices verified July 2026). License Trail also sells a $29 Student Lifetime plan, but it is capped at 1,500 hours — below every Oregon, Washington, and Florida full-track requirement — so finishing a track on it requires an upgrade.
Does License Trail support Oregon or Washington?▾
Not with board-specific tracking. License Trail's homepage names Texas, California, Florida, New York, and Colorado — not Oregon or Washington — and its broader coverage claim is generic: "flexible enough to meet requirements across all 50 states," with users invited to "customize categories and tracking to match your specific board requirements," meaning the clinician does the mapping. Its site does have Oregon and Washington state-board directory pages, but those are informational listings, not OR/WA-specific product support (checked August 2026). Almost Licensed is built on the Oregon and Washington boards' own rules and names them — BLSW, OBLPCT, WA DOH — with citations.
Which tool supports supervisors better?▾
They are different things. License Trail offers free supervisor-side review and approval access. Almost Licensed's supervisor side is a product of its own — a live caseload dashboard, a triage view of who needs attention, a review timeline, and supervision report drafting from the supervisee's logged hours — free during early access. One honest caveat: the Almost Licensed supervisor side does not cover Florida yet.
Who should choose License Trail instead of Almost Licensed?▾
Clinicians outside Oregon, Washington, and Florida — License Trail's customize-your-own-categories model works in any state, while Almost Licensed's built-in rules only cover three. Psychologists — License Trail supports psychology tracks and Almost Licensed does not. And anyone who wants monthly billing, which License Trail offers at $9.99 per month.
