Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-14

These terms cover your use of Almost Licensed, a clinical hour tracker for people working toward independent licensure in Oregon and Washington. The app is built and run by Thomas Bruketta, an individual clinician (a sole proprietor) — not a company. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

What the app is

Almost Licensed helps you record clinical hours, track progress toward your board's milestones, and generate report summaries and PDFs from what you enter. It's a personal record-keeping tool. It doesn't file anything with a board for you, and it doesn't provide legal, licensing, or clinical advice.

You're responsible for your licensure

The app tracks what you type in; it does not verify your hours against your board's records or guarantee that they'll be accepted. You are solely responsible for meeting your board's requirements, for the accuracy of what you enter, and for what you submit to your board. Always confirm the current rules with your board — the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT), or the Washington State Department of Health — before making licensing decisions.

Almost Licensed is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any licensing board.

Your account

Keep your login credentials secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and let us know if you spot unauthorized use. Accounts are for individual use.

Acceptable use

Use the app for its intended purpose. Don't try to break, overload, or reverse engineer it, don't attempt to access other users' data, and don't use it to store client names, session notes, or protected health information — the app isn't built for that and doesn't ask for it.

Subscription, trial, and billing

  • Free trial. New accounts created on or after July 12, 2026 include a 30-day free trial; accounts created before that keep the 60-day trial they were offered at signup. No card is required to start.
  • Price. After the trial, a subscription is $29 per year, billed through Stripe.
  • Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically each year and your card is charged the then-current annual price, unless you cancel first. There's no long-term commitment — it's year to year.
  • How to cancel. Cancel any time from Settings, which opens the Stripe billing portal (“Manage subscription”). Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Price changes. If the price ever changes, we'll let you know before it applies to a renewal, so you can decide whether to continue.
  • Legacy access. People who previously made a one-time payment, and early beta users, keep their access as it was.

If $29 is a genuine hardship, email support@almostlicensed.com and we'll work something out.

Refunds

Because there's a free trial before any charge, subscriptions are generally non-refundable, and cancelling keeps your access through the period you've already paid for rather than triggering a prorated refund. That said, we want you to feel good about this — if something went wrong or you were charged unexpectedly, email support@almostlicensed.com and we'll make it right.

Disclaimers and limits

The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for every situation. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Almost Licensed and its operator aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any licensing outcome, board decision, or missed deadline. Keep your own backup of anything critical — you can export your data any time from Settings.

Privacy

How the app handles your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app and cancel any time. We may suspend or end access for accounts that abuse the service or break these terms. If we ever discontinue the app, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, where the operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
